I usually use my email to keep tabs on threads I am subscribed to but today I am not getting any emails, just wondering if it my email that's wrong? Havn't changed any settings!

Possible to list who gave karma?

I know there was a way before to see which posts were given karma, but I think, it would be very useful to have a wee box underneath each post showing which users gave the karma to that post. It works well on another forum that I post on.

I brought this problem up a while ago and it was fixed immediately but now it has returned - you must leave 30 seconds between searches, which is particularly frustrating if (like me) you do a typo in the first search

Jürgen, I know you're totally against textspeak, but, can you change it so that not every instance of the letter u in insolation is converted to you as it's not even possible to underline things now without it coming out as [you] [/you]!!

Hi,

I am expecting everybody to be familiar with PMs because this might be the only way for me of contacting you when emails are bouncing. If you don't read the PMs I will just delete your account. You recognize PMs when at the top right "New messages" is in bold.

If you set up an email account just to register for the forum I recommend to check the mail regularly. Again, if the email account is disabled or discontinued, I will disable (or delete) your account.

All of the above actions aren't my favourites because it means unnecessary work and I am lazy...

I made some changes:

If e-mails are bouncing or you will not read your personal messages you will not get access to primary and second level fora.

If e-mails keep bouncing I will delete the account.

Why is a good topic subject so important?

I think you have 70 characters to play with when composing a title.

There is no need to use all of the available space but there is a need to compose a good title (topic subjects must be descriptive). The title (topic subject) might be used when somebody searches for one or more keywords so a good title is very important. "Please help" should not be part of the title because those words will never be part of a search.

When you use the search and you get 65000 results you will scan quickly through the results and then you will notice the importance of a descriptive topic subject. These results will be the links you click on. For that reason I would like to ask you to take your time when composing the topic subject. Make it meaningful, self-explanatory, descriptive and you will help the teacher community of this message board.

Important: Please avoid abbreviations and spelling mistakes in the topic subject!

I would like to add here that I frequently come across topics where I wonder: 'why didn't that person do a google search?' or 'why didn't that person ring... to find out about...?' This message board is not supposed to help the lazy so please don't post questions that can be easily answered by a bit of google research or should be answered by somebody else (professional).

If you posted a topic in this forum (FAQ) and you can not find it anymore then it is most likely that the topic was not forum related and got deleted.
